The Zeitschrift für Kunstgeschichte only publishes original contributions. This also excludes translations of articles and partial pre-publications of books in preparation. We expect that manuscripts are submitted exclusively to this journal.
The Zeitschrift für Kunstgeschichte adheres to a rigorous double-blind reviewing policy in which the identity of the reviewer and author are concealed from the respective other party. All submissions are reviewed initially by the editors and only those articles that meet the scholarly and editorial standards of the journal will be sent to external reviewers. The journal publishes contributions in the following languages: German, English, French, and Italian. The editors reserve the right to edit the contributions with regard to style and expression.
Book reviews and contributions to debates are not subject to the peer review process. However, they will be examined by the editorial board before their acceptance for publication.
The editorial board of the Zeitschrift für Kunstgeschichte decides whether or not a manuscript will be published in this journal. Neither the editorial office nor the publisher can answer questions concerning the date of publication.
